Six years ago when I vacationed in Bohol for the first time in a long long time. I was amaze with the beauty of the place. And did i say it was my birthplace?! Needless to say I fell in love with it. With its beauty and its simplicity. It was very far from Angeles City of course, the place where I grew up and for the first time in my life I learned to appreciate this one island that is called "God's little paradise", because it was indeed a paradise. Paradise for someone like me who grew up in a metropolitan city with a past faced lifestyle.
I left my heart in Bohol that is why I kept coming back. After my visit I found myself going back year after year, each with a different "purpose" shall I say. My first visit was a "dream vacation" for me, I wanted to take my mother to Bohol, a place whom I know she misses so much, I also dream of visiting my birthplace and that started it all. The place is beautiful, the countryside is quiet and relaxing and has this peaceful and calming effect that only a province could offer. And for someone like me who practically spend my whole life growing up in a city it is indeed a very welcoming change.
The second visit was with my friends. My friends from work are known "traveller" so when they saw my pictures in my Bohol trip they decided right there and then that Bohol would be the next stop. :-)
Stayed at Bohol Bee Farm....
where the bees are....
But it was such a beautiful place...
And the food.....divine! It will make you want to stay there f-o-r-e-v-e-r!
My third visit was a "personal" quest for me. It was then that I decided that I wanted to know the other part of me. But of course a vacation to Bohol would never be complete without touring the countryside once again. It amazed me that Bohol is coming up with new things to offer or new adventure to take, year after year. So this visit I tried to be more "adventurous" than my usual self. First time I tried to zipline between two mountains with the view of a Loboc river, 120 meters high!!
And this is where the "challenge" begins....
See that rope, yup thats what connect the two mountain 520 meters long and you have to cross it thru a zip line.
Of course pose for picture....para mawala ang kaba. he he he
Dont have to worry thou, I have my trusted co-"adventurer" with me..my mom! :-)
Ready, Set and Go!
On the way back, there would be an option to take the "cable cars"....
And so I found myself again after two years booking another flight. My proffessional carrer at that time was abit uncertain, experience something that was entirely new to me, ever heard the word "redundiation" :-). Well anyway at the height of my "stress" I found myself drifting in a place where I knew I can find that peace, quiet and serene life. This time I "discovered" Alona Beach in Panglao Island. Name after a famous actress in the 70's. I discovered something new again. That this "is" the Boracay of Bohol. With resorts lining up the coastline of Panglao Island, one can easily have drink or two in a quaint little pub. Just like Boracay it also has "night life" and since I've been to Boracay quiet a few times, I can say Alona yes has its own brand of night life, a little "quiter" of course than Bora. So if your the kind of wanting a much mellow and quitter night life then Alona is the one for you. :-)
I'll have my mother to "model" the coast line of Panglao. :-)
See, very much like Boracay....the sand, the sea and cute tourists of course! ha ha
While Boracay is known for its sunset but Panglao has the most beautiful sunrise in the Island.
And did I said they have San Mig Light there....he he he
And ice cold coca-cola too!
And some bar humors of course :-)
Im pretty sure you know how my blog would end. Yes, I am now once again in Bohol, my birthplace, the place where I left my heart and needless to say I am just going back to where my heart is. And it is here in this beautiful Island. I don't know what will happen next but Im sure it will be another learning experience for me. I have been meaning to explore more of the place and its neighboring islands as well. And I sure will chronicle it on this blog and share the experience for the purpose of encouring people to travel and explore our beautiful country. There are ways and means to enjoy a vacation with budget still on check. We dont have to "limit" ourselves with the place where we are or be contented in just seeing this beautiful places in tv or magazine. The catch phrase of Department of Tourism is true.....Its More Fun In The Phillipines.
